Overview of the Role
Under the supervision of the Outreach/Recreation Manager, the Dining Site Recreation Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a community dining site and all its associated programs and activities to attract a minimum of 25 participants daily. This position is contingent upon continued grant funding. 
 

Major Responsibilities/Activities
 
•       Provides 3 hours each day of activities that engage participants and encourage healthy behaviors, including exercise, consuming nutritious food, and maintaining brain health.
•       Supervises the implementation of programs and activities at the site and regularly leads activities, including exercise, crafts, and other activities.
•       Ensures that the site is well-maintained, comfortable, and attractive.
•       Assists with.outreach activities to encourage more attendance at the site.
•       Surveys and engages participants in developing programs and activities.
•       Conducts an active outreach strategy to maintain required site attendance.
•       Completes all reports required by Ward 6 and DCOA.
•       Maintains inventory of supplies for program activities and food services. 
•       Assists aide with food distribution as required. 

Key Qualifications
•       Certified food handler 
•       Experienced with conducting recreational activities for older adults 
•       Sensitive, courteous, and respectful to the needs of older adult participants 
•       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

Work Environment: Standard office environment
Equipment Used: PC/Laptop
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
